Volunteer at WRWA's Spring & Fall River Clean-Ups! Hundreds of volunteers have helped remove thousands of pounds of trash from the Westfield River over the years. WRWA continues to host annual clean ups around Earth Day in the spring and the CT River "Source to Sea" Clean-up in the fall. WRWA provides bags and coordinates roadside trash removal with local municipalities. See Facebook for more information
Spring Clean-ups: 5/20/23 in Agawam, 9:00am meetup at the Pynchon Point parking lot near the South End bridge circle on River Road. Contact Sheryl Becker to register for the Agawam Clean Up. sher1earth69@gmail.com 5/13/23 in Westfield, 9:00am meetup at Riverwalk Lot on Meadow St. Contact Mark Damon to register for the Westfield Clean Up. markjdamon@gmail.com WRWA will distribute gloves and trash bags and offer safety tips, then send off site teams. Organizers target watershed sites in Westfield, Russell, Huntington, West Springfield and Agawam. Assignments are generally completed about noon or 1pm. Everyone is welcome; children must be supervised by an adult. WRWA will arrange with local communities for pickup of trash and debris recovered at each site.
